SolidWorks Tech Talk

Abstract: Want to learn new functions and network with other SolidWorks Users? Would you like to network with other SolidWorks users? Computer Aided Technology Inc., the SolidWorks VAR, will be hosting a FREE seminar demonstrating some key functions within SolidWorks. Local company, Airfloat, will open the seminar with a discussion on how they utilize SolidWorks as their everyday design tool. Effective aspects of abelian groups

Abstract: Understanding computable aspects of groups goes back to the work of Max Dehn in the early 20th century, and the use of computability theory in combination with abelian groups seems to have its roots in the pioneering work of Mal'cev and Rabin in the early 1960's. Here I will look at this program, particularly viewing some recent results of the author with Alexander Melnikov.

More Morse with Melinda

Abstract: We'll recap the basic ideas of Morse theory and then explore Morse Homology. Morse homology is defined for any smooth manifold and in fact is isomorphic to singular homology. Morse homology serves as the model for some highly powerful infinite-dimensional homologies, such as Floer homology.
