**Abstract:** Earlier this year, we were introduced to the definition of Whittaker vectors and saw an explicit example for the case of sl2. Unfortunately, sl2 was the only explicit example at the time. In this talk, we will describe a new way that allows us to explicitly write down Whittaker vectors of all semi-simple Lie algebras and give some applications of this method. If time permits, we can then discuss about possible generalizations of this result and further research directions. The results presented in this talk are combined works of Rinat Kedem and Philippe di Francesco.
