Tau Functions for the Toda Lattice and Generalizations

Darlayne Addabbo (UIUC Math)

Abstract: In this talk, we will describe tau functions for the Toda lattice and generalizations. We will begin by describing two different methods for computing tau functions for the Toda lattice. We will use the Desnanot-Jacobi Identity to find difference relations satisfied by these tau functions. We will then show how to compute tau functions for generalizations of the Toda lattice and will state some preliminary results. [Joint with M. Bergvelt]
